Idealpak offers recycled, bio-plastic and biodegradable packaging
Idealpak, an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer of primary packaging for cosmetics and personal care industry, offers evolving packaging solutions that combine innovation with sustainability.
Idealpak recently launches new environmentally sustainable packaging solutions, including bio-based sugarcane tubes, PET bottles, jars and plastic tubes made from Post-Consumer Resin, as well as biodegradable PE and PP bottles.
Idealpak’s sugarcane tubes are made from bio-plastic derived from 100% renewable resource—sugarcane, instead of fossil-based materials. They have the same structure and function as the conventional tubes and there is no difference in the properties.
Therefore, no new filling equipment are needed if you shift from conventional tubes to sugarcane tubes. The carbon footprint of a sugarcane tube is 50% better than that of a conventional tube. After being used, the sugarcane tubes can be 100% recycled.
Idealpak’s PCR (Post-Consumer Resin) packaging series is another eco-friendly packaging solution for many brand owners to support the recycling program and meet the demands of consumers.
PCR is recycled materials made from discarded plastic products. Packaging products made from PCR is an environmentally sustainable solution for reusing single-use materials that would otherwise be disposed of in landfill.
10% to 100% PCR can be added into PET bottles, PET jars or cosmetic tubes. PCR packaging can: 1. Reduce virgin plastic consumption and help save energy and fossil fuels; 2. Reuse single-use items and keep plastic out of landfill; 3. Lower the carbon footprint: the carbon footprint of manufacturing 100% PCR PET is 60% lower than manufacturing virgin PET; 4. Be recycled again for new manufacturing.
Idealpak’s d2w (oxo-biodegradable additives) technology can make HDPE, LDPE and PP bottles biodegradable. Only 1% of d2w can make the difference by turning conventional plastic into a material with a different molecular structure.
The d2w material works with both virgin and recycled plastic (HDPE, LDPE, PP as well as all their co-polymers and polymer derivatives) and requires no change to the manufacturing process.
HDPE, LDPE and PP bottles with 1% d2w will maintain their original properties during their shelf life and service life. At the end of their service life, they will degrade and biodegrade (eventually consumed by microorganisms) in the open environment in the presence of oxygen.
Plastic bottles with d2w can and should be recycled. In case they are not collected by the recycling facilities, they will degrade instead of accumulating in the environment, avoiding long-term harm to the environment.
